We are Sisters in Silver - Laura Sinclair, Kirsty Phillips and Miss Wizz. The piece is a Combination of skills by all three artists. We gathered to decide on a theme, a style, the size and who was going to create each part of the combination of interstellar objects. Laura chose the Star, Kirsty created the Moon, Wizz brought the Shooting star and Comet to life, as well as the cheeky UFO on the extender chain.
This Necklace combines both near and far space elements, representing things Out of this World. Individually we decided on the combination of materials in each part, be that silver with glass, with CZ, with or with Patina to represent our own design inspirations. Together the pieces highlights the infinite possibilities of collaborative working around a common theme, including during the ideation, creation and combination phases of our design lifecycle. On their own, the objects of space are wonderous and beautiful, but together they inspire awe and imagination - much like the relationship between the three ladies.
Laura Says - “The North Star is designed as a representation of my guiding light through my life. The patina within the star depicts the infinite nature of space and possibilities our lives can hold – if only you follow your star”
Wizz says - “Capturing the grace and power of a comet and shooting star was challenging, along with creating two unique objects that matched in style. Many people wish upon a shooting star - my wish came true as I collaborated with such fantastical skilled artists”
Kirsty Says - "The Moon and stars are my concept of 'Out of this world'. Monthly I see the progress of the moon over the sky, and feel her influence on my mood and creativity. For years stars have guided travelers to safe havens. I have learned to follow the stars in my creative journey with Silver Clay"
Once fired and finished in our own studios, the pieces were sent to Laura for assembly and photography
for combining into the statement necklace.
