Service Description

Christmas is coming! Do you need to make someone a handcrafted present? Awaken your creativity with this fun and imaginative workshop. You will start by making a basic shape, A heart, or a circle, or a flower, and then we will decorate it with three dimensional silver elements. Flowers, spots, lines - you could even make tiny screw heads. You will make the whole thing yourself as you learn about manipulating the silver, texturing, rolling and cutting. After lunch we will polish and finish the piece so you can go away wearing your creation. What we'll Cover: * What Silver Clay is and How it developed. * How to texture your pendant. *Different ways of shaping the clay. *Drying and the refining a shape. * Many ways of creating spots, dots, lines and swirls to make your design unique. * We'll talk about ways to fire, and of course, we'll fire your pendant. * You'll learn how to polish, finish and patina your piece. Please bring the appropriate glasses, some elements are small and fiddly. It may be useful to bring with your a clear, empty CD case for rolling clay (I have some but not enough for all students). Some tools and equipment is shared between students but all Covid guidelines and procedures will be followed. Its not messy but I don't recommend you wear your Sunday best. Closed toe shoes and tie back long hair. This workshop will be at my Melksham Studio and runs from approximately 10am - 4pm. Further details about parking and lunch will follow in the booking e-mail.
